If
you are exhibiting work with a gallery where it is available for
resale Artlook will guide you through the process of setting up a
formal consignment of your work to the gallery, clearly detailing
your terms (commission based on sale price or agreed fixed price).
The system will automatically generate a consignment note from you
to the gallery clearly showing each item, its price and your terms
of sale. Once your work is consigned out you can easily track which
items are with which gallery and whether or not they are over-due
for return.
If your gallery sell
one of your items it takes just a couple of clicks of the mouse to
mark the
item as sold and to generate a formal invoice.
That invoice goes into the Accounts section of the program showing as “Outstanding” until
such time as you mark it as paid. Used in this way the system can very
quickly provide an overview of your sales and the monies which are owed
to you at any one time – equally you can get a clear picture of
income you might receive through as yet unsold consigned out items.
You can also very
quickly create “Events” within Artlook
and simply drag the relevant items of work onto the event. In this way
you can see which items are in (or were in) which event
and at the same time Artlook updates the stock record for each item to
show its inclusion, information which can easily be retrieved when you
are panning future shows.
You can, of course, also use Events for activities based on your own
studio. It literally takes only minutes to create the event, drag the
relevant items onto the event, create a price list and/or a full colour
catalogue with thumbnail images and print off the wall labels.
