Who we are
|
Artlook Software Limited is led by Jonathan Hyams and Charles Davies. Over the past twelve years they have been comitted to bringing affordable and effective software solutions to arts organisations and have enormous experience both in terms of application development and client support. In their previous company, Dataculture Ltd, which was founded by Jonathan in 1992, they were responsible for the Databox Ticketing and Marketing system which, with over 300 users, has become the most widely used application in the UK theatre and performing arts market.
With the sale of Dataculture to the American Tickets.com corporation the
opportunity arose for both to explore opportunities in other areas. A close
personal and professional involvement with the visual arts led rapidly to a
realisation that there was a clear need within the commercial art gallery and
antiques dealership market for a modern, affordable inventory and client
management application - but, most importantly, one that could be linked
seamlessly with an organisation's web site.
The result, after a lengthy period of research, consultation and development,
is Artlook.
The system was first installed at Scolar Fine Art in London in August 2002.
Gordon Samuel and Nicola Penny at the gallery have provided invaluable advice
and assistance throughout the development period and worked closely with
Artlook during a thorough and intensive beta-testing phase prior to the
release of the first commercially available version of the software. |
